Bengaluru: After its successful service in Mumbai and Hyderabad, Heytaxi, an app based service will be bringing motorcycle taxis in Bengaluru from January.
The service will be rolled out in the electronic city at a base fare of Rs 20 for first 2kms and Rs 7 per km after that.
The motorcyle taxis the kind that we have seen in Goa, will be competing with the other app based taxi services in the city.
Heytaxi has 27 registered riders in the city and is planning to induct more in the coming weeks. It is also running a promotional campaign this month offering two free rides to customers up to 5 Kilometers.
Besides requesting a ride, customers can also request riders to pick up and drop parcels. The taxi service in Bengaluru, however, will be initially available only to men due to safety reasons.
Heytaxi sees good potential for growth in Bengaluru as its charges are cheaper than auto fare.
