Bengaluru: The two cars, a swanky Lamborghini and a BMW Mini Cooper that allegedly belonged to Karnataka State Highways Development Project Chief Project Officer SC Jayachandra’s son Thrijesh which were found by tax authorities in a raid at an apartment complex are now missing.

The Income Tax authorities sealed flat number 193 in tower number five of Pebble Bay after the raid. Cash in new currency to the tune of Rs 4.7 crore, 10 kilograms of gold and property documents found in the flat were seized by the authorities. They also took away the keys of the Lamborghini and the BMW Mini Cooper.

The cars are now not to be seen in the parking lot of the luxury apartment complex in Raj Mahal Vilas Extension. It is said that both the cars were driven away on the next midnight after the raid, by an unknown person. As the facility of CCTV cameras is quite heavy in the parking lot, it shouldn’t be difficult for the police to find out who has taken away the cars.

The authorities, while doing everything right, seem to have overlooked the fact that there are two sets of keys to vehicles. The raiding team had seized only one set of keys of both the cars.

It may be recalled unaccounted wealth of Rs 152 crore, including Rs 5.7 crore cash in Rs 2,000 denomination notes, was unearthed recently after which officials T N Chikkarayappa and S C Jayachandra were suspended by the State government.
