Bengaluru: Hindu Jagarana Vedike (HJV) has asked the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to look into the hijab row, claiming it is an anti-national ploy by separatists.
Speaking to mediapersons HJV State General Secretary K. T. Ullas on Monday February 14 said that those involved in the hijab issue are not innocent and are being instigated by forces who want communal riots.
“Two people were caught at a hijab protest spot in Kundapur on February 4 for possessing lethal weapons, proving that there was a plan to cause communal violence,” he claimed. Ullas said that the six students protesting at Women’s Government PU College in Udupi for the right to wear hijab are not innocent.
“The Popular Front of India, through its student wing Campus Front of India, is carrying out all the activities that are destroying society’s harmony,” he added. Meanwhile, Campus Front of India State President Athaulla Punjalkatte reacted against CDC Vice President Yashpal Suvarna, who allegedly referred to the six Muslim students as terrorists at Women’s Government PU College, Udupi.
He said that this is an anti-national behaviour by him to degrade students. He demanded Yashpal’s dismissal, saying that labelling them as terrorists is the sick mindset of a BJP leader.
