Bengaluru: Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant has extended the prohibitory orders around educational institutions till March 8 in view of the hijab controversy.
Gatherings, agitations, protests, and other peace-disturbing activities within a 200-meter radius of educational institutions are prohibited in Bengaluru, stated the order.
Protests and agitations have taken place in a few regions over the last few days in response to the rigorous regulation of uniform rules in schools and colleges. According to him, the protests have disrupted peace and order in several areas. To maintain public peace and order in Bengaluru, proper security measures must be put in place, he stressed.
The order also mentioned that protests and agitations throughout Bengaluru city, both for and against the strict implementation of school/college uniform rules is banned.
