Bengaluru: Over 400 medicinal plants, thick forest and a lake covering one acre of land. This is how the Horticulture Department is planning the Pavithra Vana (sacred forest) for meditation inside the famous Cubbon Park.
According to the authorities, the department has decided to create a meditation space keeping in mind the requirement of one’s day to day’s life,
Well-known environmentalist, A N Yallappa Reddy designed this Pavithra Vana. He has picked up 400 medicinal plants which will be planted here, the authorities added.
“We have already started digging pits. The saplings will be planted by next week,” informed the authorities.
“These saplings have been brought from the B R Hills and M M Hills in Chamarajanagar. Several companies are investing in this scheme for their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR),” said Mahantesh Murugod, Deputy Director, Horticulture Department.
