Bengaluru: A cop turned savior for a pregnant woman in dire need of help near Gali Anjaneya Junction on Mysore road on Thursday.
Gopalakrishna, PSI of Baytarayanapura Traffic Police squad, while on duty managing heavy traffic at the said area, noticed a woman delivering a baby by the side of the road without any attendants. Without further ado, he attended to her immediately with the help of staff and public and immediately arranged for an ambulance.
Due to his presence of mind and timely assistance, the woman delivered a baby girl.
The woman in question has been identified as Selvi (23) wife of late Raju, a native of Kallukurchi, Tamilnadu. Both mother and the baby girl are safe and healthy in Vani Vilas hospital now.
Bengaluru Traffic Police showed great appreciation for the good work done by the officer.
