Bengaluru: Former prime minister and JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda on Tuesday proclaimed that he had nothing to do with the ongoing affairs of the Okkaligara Sangha.
Speaking to media persons, former prime minister Deve Gowda said his job was to focus on politics and certainly not establishing organisations or associations. “I came to know that one minister in Siddaramaiah’s Cabinet has said that he would solve all the issues of Vokkaligara Sangha. I will be happy if the minister succeeds in his mission. I am not bothered about Vokkaligara Sangha,’’ Deve Gowda said.
Beware of BJP: HDD to Srinivas Prasad
Deve Gowda said the decision to contest on whichever party symbol was purely a prerogative of Srinivas Prasad after having resigned as Congress MLA from Nanjangud recently. Cautioning Srinivas Prasad against joining hands with BJP, Deve Gowda said the BJP leaders would take him in a procession at the time of joining their party but forget his existence in the party as soon as the “welcome party” gets over. “The fate of S Bangarappa and Rajasekhara Murthy is an example of how BJP would neglect the leaders who join BJP,’’ Deve Gowda said.
He said that JD(S) would support Srinivas Prasad if he decided to contest as an Independent in the by-election to Nanjangud Assembly seat.
HDD on Hiremath’s Allegations
Reacting to S R Hiremath’s allegation on H D Kumaraswamy encroaching upon around 200 acres of government land in Ramnagar taluk, the JD(S) supremo said Kumaraswamy had around 60 or 70 acres of land in Ramanagar taluk and certainly not around 200 acres as alleged by Hiremath. “The state government has probed the land issues by successive governments. The inquiry found no irregularities,’’ he claimed.
