Bengaluru: Chief Minister Kumaraswamy has been hitting headlines for either bizarre or impulsive statements and the recent one to add to the list is his statement with regard to farm loan waiver in the state.
Addressing an event in Bagalkote, on Friday, the CM said that the coalition government will not cheat the farmers. The CM then went on to swear by his son to convince the farmers that the loans will be waived off without fail.
“The coalition government is determined to waive off the loans. However, some have been sparking rumors that the scheme will not be implemented. I have only one son and I swear by him that I will implement the scheme,” HDK said adding that he will not step down as a CM who did not fulfill this promise.
He said that a sum of Rs 25,000 cr will be earmarked in the next budget for the loan waiver and as many as 44 lakh families will be benefited by the scheme.
