Bengaluru: The Income Tax Department officials have conducted raids on the residences and offices of three government officials including a senior IAS officer said to be close to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
The Income Tax officials conducted raids at various places across Bengaluru early Wednesday morning. The raids include a bank manager and a government officer said to be close to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The sources said that Chikkarayappa, Chief Engineer of Kaveri Board is close to Siddaramaiah. His residence at Banaswadi was raided by the I-T officials over allegations of possessing ill-gotten wealth.
It is believed the Income Tax officials have seized a huge amount of cash, jewellery and property documents during the raid on the residences and offices of the three officers, including a bank manager.
It was said the I-T officials, after receiving the information on the disproportionate assets of these officials, have raided their residences and offices with the help of police. The I-T officials have refused to give details on the documents, cash and jewellery seized during the raid.
