Bengaluru: Taking a stand in the ongoing beef row in the country, Chief minister Siddaramaiah here on Thursday said that it was his right to eat beef and nobody can stop him.

Speaking at a Youth Congress event Chief minister said, “I haven’t had beef. But I will eat. Who are you to question? Whatever is comfortable for me, I will eat.”

CM contended that unnecessary issues are being raked under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi instead of focusing on development of the nation.

He admitted that the situation across the country had turned insecure with the kind of issues taking centre stage like beef ban.

Commenting over the recent lynching of a Muslim man in Dadri over beef, CM said, “The killing of a Muslim man in Dadri for eating beef, the murder of Kalburgi, Pansare, Dabholkar the Dalit children in Haryana have thoroughly exposed the communal and casteist agenda of the BJP and the RSS.”

He also directed youth Congress members to fight fringe elements like RSS who are trying to incite violence in the country.

The growing intolerance in the country has compelled many writers, historians, filmmakers to protest. They have returned their national awards opposing highly vitiated atmosphere prevailing in the country.
