Bengaluru: Criticizing the BJP, senior Congress leader and Maharashtra Congress in-charge Mallikarjun Kharge has said that the upcoming by-polls would be an eye-opener for the BJP leaders as the people would give a befitting reply for having misused the Indian Constitution.

Speaking to the media on Sunday, December 1 he said, “BJP leaders will receive a befitting reply from the people, in the upcoming assembly by-polls as they had overpowered the India Constitution. People have witnessed this both in Centre as well as the state. It is time to wait and watch for the results. They will be taught a lesson only if they are wiped out in the by-polls.”

Lashing out at the BJP, claiming that the ‘money power’ was put to use in order to win the by-elections, Kharge said, “Currently, BJP leaders are pouring in money for campaigning to pressurise the electorates to vote for them. If this exhibition of ‘money power’ fails, then the BJP will resort to ‘religious politics’, trying to win over the confidence of the electorates by bringing in religious issues.”

He also criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa for not responding to the flood situation of Karnataka and flood victims.
