Bengaluru: C.S Patil of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) unit of Bengaluru announced orange alert for the coastal districts of Karnataka till June 17. The entire state is likely to experience widespread rainfall.
According to Patil, coastal Karnataka and south-interior Karnataka experienced widespread rainfall from Sunday June 13.
“From June 13 to 17, the entire state of Karnataka is extremely likely to get widespread rainfall. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in districts of Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Shivamogga, and Chikkamagaluru, due to which an orange alert has been issued,” he added.
