Bengaluru: Vegetable prices have gone up in Bengaluru as crops have been damaged by incessant rains in the City and neighbouring states over the last week.
According to the reports, the price of tomatoes has risen to Rs. 80 per kg as the City receives tomatoes from Kolar, Bengaluru Rural, Ramanagara, and Chikkaballapura, which have all experienced heavy rains.
Other crops, such as beans and brinjal, have increased in price to Rs. 40 per kg and Rs. 90 per kg, respectively.
The produce is rotting in the fields, and the lack of labourers has worsened the problem.
