Bengaluru: Even though the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches have been shifted out of India, complaints of illegal betting continue to pour, leaves the City police on its toes.
According to the city police Joint Commissioner Sandeep Patil, 25 cases of betting were registered in a special drive conducted by CCB against cricket betting during IPL.
A total of 42 accused were arrested and Rs. 1.54 crore was recovered.
According to the police, raids were carried out across the state and many were arrested during the IPL.
However, due to corona crisis, the cases of betting has come down compared to previous years.
