Bengaluru: Former prime minister and Janata Dal (Secular) supremo H D Deve Gowda on Sunday demanded the state government to implement the report of the House Committee on the alleged irregularities in implementation of the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor Project (BMIC) by Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE).
Speaking with media persons here on Sunday at his Padmanabhanagar residence, Deve Gowda demanded the state government to implement the House Committee report as it is. “The House Committee recommended probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate into this scam. I want Siddaramaiah to implement the recommendations of the House Committee. Siddaramaiah, who was finance minister in my Cabinet had given permission to these projects, is aware of the BMIC,’’ Deve Gowda said.
Demolish illegal structures
Deve Gowda has said the NICE had developed six illegal layouts, including the one at Madanayakanahalli and various government departments have declared these layouts as illegal. “Siddaramaiah government, which demolished the dwellings of poor people in Bengaluru, should not keep quiet by serving notice to these illegal layouts. I want the government to demolish the illegal structure at these layouts,’’ he said.
On Minister D K Shivakumar’s allegation on using influence to include his name in the report, the JD(S) supremo said that Shivakumar is not Satya Harischandra. “No one has influenced the House Committee headed by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs T B Jayachandra. No committee member was pressurized. I want Minister Shivakumar to realize this,’’ he said.
