Bengaluru: Education Minister B. C. Nagesh on Thursday March 3 said that it is upto people to purchase Halal meat or not.
Stating that Halal is a part of Islamic Law, Minister said that the Government chooses not to interfere in this matter. It is upto people to decide the same. Those who do not have a problem eating Halal meat will purchase and those who have problem will not purchase it, he added.
It can be recalled here that the right wing groups have given a call to boycott Halal meat as ‘varshadodaku’ is nearing when non-vegetarian food is a must for many communities in the State.
