Bengaluru: Few people are confident that they would emerge victorious in Legislative Assembly elections and come to power, however it is all likely that coalition government would form Government, observed JD (S) Chief and Former Prime Minister H. D. Devegowda.
When questioned as to who his party will support between BJP or Congress, if either of them cannot get absolute majority, he said we believe in secularism, and have ruled the country with the support of other secular parties at the national level.
“In the present scenario, ruling the nation without the support of regional parties is next to impossible. I am saying this out of my experience. Further, even regional parties currently are not united. Earlier, I had made two failed attempts to bring all the regional parties, he said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is undertaking extensive campaigning to win elections in five states. However, the situation is not favourable to him. Even the hold of Congress has weakened, and therefore the results of elections in five states will bring about a new political development, Devegowda averred.
