Bengaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Monday January 17 said that it’s time to revisit the Inter-State River Water Disputes Act because the Act has been creating more disputes than solving them.
In his virtual address at the inaugural ceremony of PM Gati Shakti Southern Zone Conference, he said that as delay always proves costly to the infrastructure, the legal interventions are quite important. There has been a delay in our irrigation projects due to Inter-State Water Disputes Act. So it is prudent that we revisit the same, he added.
The conference was chaired by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari.
