Bengaluru: Seven JDS rebel legislators will join Congress before the next assembly elections, said rebel JDS legislator from Magadi H C Balakrishana.
Speaking to reporters here after an hour long meeting, the state chief minister confirmed the rebel JDS legislators decision to join Congress.
Cheluvarayaswamy another rebel JDS MLA said, the decision to join Congress will be taken following a meeting and discussions with supporters in his constituency.
At the same time, Cheluvarayaswamy expressed desire to stay away from JDS in the political battle ground but confirmed high regard for the party supremo H D Devegowda.
It is gathered, the state Congress has agreed to give assembly seats to the rebel JDS legislators in the forthcoming assembly elections keeping in view their support to the party in the Rajya Sabha elections. It may be recalled the seven JDS legislators had cross voted against their own party candidate.
Cheluvarayaswamy, H C Balakrishna,Jameer Ahmed and Akhanda Srinivas Murthy are prominent among the JDS rebel legislators who have been assured of Congress seats.
