Bengaluru: A woman was attacked by a man and his accomplices for rejecting his marriage proposal. The incident took place in Jeevanbheema Nagar Police limits.

The accused is identified as Bharath Raj, a resident of J P Nagar. The accused is reportedly absconding after the incident.

” The accused was running a paying guest (PG) accommodation for the employed women at Chamarajapet. There is a suspicion that Bharat has already married twice and both the wives ran away as they could not tolerate his torture”, said the police.

According to sources, this woman had met Bharath a few years ago and they had become good friends with him. But as days passed by, he started acting weirdly with the woman. She gradually started to feel uncomfortable around him and stopped talking to him, Bharat could not tolerate this and started harassing her. He was forcing her to marry him. When she rejected his proposal he blackmailed her that he would upload her private photos and video on social media.

On September, 22 when the lady was about to leave her house, Bharath came there and abused her. Following this, the lady had lodged a complaint against him with the Indiranagar Police Station.

Bharat, after learning that the lady has lodged a complaint against him tortured her to take it back but she did not agree. On September 26, Bharat came to her house at around 11:30 PM, attacked the lady and broke her car glass as well. Later, he fled the scene.

A case was registered with the Jeevanbheema Nagar Police and a special team is formed to nab the accused.
