K J George likely to join CM Siddaramaiah’s ministry

Bengaluru: Former minister K J George is likely to be re-inducted into the ministry following the clean chit from the Crime Investigation Department (CID), which probed the alleged suicide of DySP M K Ganapathi.

If all goes well, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will have George back in his team within a week. The ongoing Cauvery issue is the only reason due to which his re-induction could be delayed. The CM and KPCC working president Dinesh Gundurao had earlier stated that one slot in the ministry has been kept vacant for George, if he comes out clean from the CID probe.

Siddaramaiah is scheduled to visit Delhi on September 22 to hold talks with the party high command on appointment of heads of various boards and corporations and nomination of three candidates to the Legislative Council. He is also likely to seek the high command’s consent for George’s re-induction.

In all likelihood, George will be made minister for Bengaluru Development, the portfolio which he held before quitting the ministry.
