Bengaluru: The state government will celebrate the Kannada Rajyotsava event on November 30 and as many as 63 achievers will be honoured with the Kannada Rajyotsava awards on the occasion.
According to the sources in the Kannada and Culture department, a decision in this regard was taken by CM HD Kumaraswamy.
“November is considered as the Rajyotsava month. This year Rajyotsava was not celebrated on November 1 due to the by-election code of conduct. So it was decided to celebrate the event on November 30, last day of the month,” informed an officer from the CMO.
“The list of 63 achievers is ready. The award giving ceremony will be held at Ravindra Kalakshetra on November 30 evening where CM HDK will confer awards for all the winners,” he explained.
It may be recalled that there was news about the delay in celebration mainly because of the large number of entries for the award, specifically with political recommendations. It was said that the CM did not want any confrontations and problems with the coalition partners over the award issue and hence delayed the event as the department could not select just 63 achievers from the entries.
