Bengaluru: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, whose Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was hoping to make a mark in the State Assembly elections, is, however, conspicuously absent from the campaigning.

The AAP cadre is hoping that he will make it to State on the last day. The public campaigning ends at 5 p.m. on Monday May 8. The party had created a good vibe and was aiming to win a few seats in Bengaluru and urban centers in Karnataka. People even had predicted that AAP will prove to be a formidable opponent to BJP.

Kejriwal, the person who propelled AAP to the power of seat in New Delhi and managed to install party in Punjab, was expected to carry out an aggressive election campaign in State. Arvind Kejriewal’s absence has disappointed cadres. AAP leaders alleged that BJP’s highhandedness and vindictive politics has restrained and forced New Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal from taking up extensive campaigning in Karnataka.

Talking to IANS, Mohan Dasari, AAP Bengaluru City Working President and contestant in C.V. Ramannagar seat in Bengaluru said that the vendetta politics by BJP against AAP has restrained Arvind Kejriwal from entering Karnataka election campaigning. Arvind Kejriwal ji came in the month of April. The subsequent visits by national leaders Raghav Chadda, Sanjay Singh, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mannji and other ministers from AAP governments were also made in Karnataka. The elections are taken up seriously. Otherwise no one would have come. Because of vendetta politics by BJP, our leader Manish Sisodiaji is in jail due to false cases. When no excise policy is implemented, where is the corruption? They (BJP) are carrying out vindictive politics, he alleged.

Now, when the entire country is talking about good governance and government schools in New Delhi, he was the creator. He built those schools and improved government education. Same with Satyendra Jain. When no one in the country was talking about the government hospitals and mohalla clinics, he had built them and showcased them to the entire world,” Mohan Dasari explained.

He showed how government hospitals and mohalla clinics can change the lives of middle class people and the poor class. Since they were doing good work and the entire country was appreciative, they put these people behind bars with false cases, Mohan Dasari stated.

“Both our top leaders were there in New Delhi to take care of affairs. Now, with vindictive politics they are behind bars and Arvind Kejriwalji is taking care of New Delhi now. He has been forced to take care of affairs there,” Mohan Dasari stated. Now, since we have also won Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections and we have a mayor and deputy mayor, there are a lot many things that could be achieved in New Delhi. We are still hopeful that he might come to Karnataka. But, not sure,” he explained. “This election is fought with local issues. People want change badly. Because they want a change badly, the people are looking at good governance, good hospitals and government homes for all and we are doing it,” Mohan Dasari stated.
