Bengaluru: The Global Initiative on Sharing All Influenza Data (GISADI) reported that the AY4.2 variant of Coronavirus which is causing a sudden surge in the Covid-19 cases in the country is reported among two patients from Karnataka also. However, the State Government has yet to respond on the findings.
Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar informed that he has directed authorities to keep the government alert if the variant is found in the State. According to the report, this variant is found in seven other states of the country.
However, with the Covid – 19 cases fast falling in the country with a huge vaccination coverage, the government is confident that third wave may not happen in the country.
