Bengaluru: Electricity consumers may have to pay extra as the Karnataka Electricity Regularity Commission (KERC) is expected to implement a rate hike of 30 paise per unit.
The average hike of 30 paise per unit is comprised of a Rs. 15 fixed charge hike and a 10 paise per unit increase. Starting in March and April, the increased tariff is expected to take effect.
The higher tariff will increase the financial difficulty for individuals who use less than 30 units per month, while those who use 30 to 100 units would see their cost remain unchanged or slightly lowered.
