Bengaluru: Bharathi Vishnuvardhan, wife of legendary sandalwood actor Dr Vishnuvardhan has been miffed by the recent meeting between actor Sudeep and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Sudeep, during the meeting at CM’s residence on Monday requested the CM to ensure that Vishnuvardhan’s memorial is built in Bangalore. He requested one acre land near Dr Vishnuvardhan’s grave in Abhiman Studio for the memorial. The actor also said that government needs to ensure that the work on memorial brisks up as eight years have passed since legendary actor passed away and further informed the CM that if there are any financial glitches fans of Vishnuvardhan were ready to purchase the said land.
However, the requests stand in contradiction to Bharathi Vishnuvardhan’s demand of building the memorial at 5 acre land allotted by the government in Mysuru.
It is believed that Mrs Vishnuvardhan was not aware of Sudeep-CM meet and that Sudeep did not discuss issues related to Vishnuvardhan’s memorial with her.
She has argued that there is no need for memorial in Bangalore and that the government has released Rs 2 cr for memorial in Mysuru.
“Money is not the reason for the delay in construction of the memorial. If so, our family will spend for it. Sudeep doesn’t know what the problem is, ” she said. According to the source, Bharati Vishnuvardhan is not participating in the death anniversary being organized by Vishnuvardhan fans in Bengaluru from past couple of years. However, her stand is backed by another actor Yash, it is said.
