Bengaluru: As a precautionary measure and to curb violence, and communal tension, Kodagu Deputy Commissioner B. C. Satish Haa imposed prohibitory orders in the Kodagu District under Section 144 between 6.00 am on Wednesday August 24 to 6.00 pm on Saturday August 27.

According to the order issued late night on Monday August 22 all the processions, rallies, marches, and gatherings are banned. However, private events like marriages, etc. are allowed.

This decision has been taken following Congress’s announcement to hold a rally in Madikeri City on Friday August 26 in protest against the recent egg attack on the car in which former CM Siddaramaiah was travelling.

BJP called for the counter programme on the same day in the City raising the fear of violence.

Congress is expecting over 2 lakh party activists to participate in this protest rally. The party leaders are planing to lay seize the SP office.
