Kolar: “I cannot say that there is no factionalism in Kolar Constituency. Siddaramaiah is a leader of the masses and knows the pulse of the people. Former Speaker V. R. Sudarshan said that the Party High Command will decide where he should stand for the polls.
Speaking to mediapersons at Vemagal in the Taluk, he said that the election campaign has not been officially announced by the KPCC and Siddaramaiah will visit Seethi Village on November 13. He has been with Byre Gowda and will also offer prayers at his samadhi. He will also visit the Kolaramma Temple later, he added.
Further he asserted
“I wanted to contest from Kolar Assembly Constituency in 2014 and 2018 and I am also an aspirant for a ticket,” Sudarshan said. However, one should also apply for it. The election committee will give it to the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee and thereafter a screening committee at the All India Congress Committee level will check and then the party will take a decision, he said.
He expressed “I want to contest from Kolar and there is a demand from people and Congress workers too. Let Siddaramaiah come or else I will ask the party to give me a chance,” he said.
