Bengaluru: They say, ‘enemy’s enemy is a friend’ and the same aptly suits the faction-ridden Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC). All these days former chief minister Siddaramaiah and Dr G Parameshwar could not stand each other.

When he was the chief minister Siddaramaiah was not even ready to promote Parameshwar as the DCM. But now both of them have joined hands together to stop DKShi from becoming the KPCC president.

According to the sources, both Siddaramaiah and Parameshwar are nursing the ambition of becoming CM. They fear that if DK Shivakumar becomes KPCC president, their dream may not come true as Shivakumar had a good network at High Command level. Now, to stop him from becoming the KPCC president, both leaders have floated the name of ex-MP SP Muddahanumegowda for the KPCC president post.

Muddahanumegowda is from the Vokkaliga community and is an advocate. It is said that he does not have the money power like DKShi, otherwise he is as capable as DKShi. He is considered very close to Dr GP.

Now GP faction has floated his name to block DKShi’s chances. Siddaramaiah too had extended his support.

Speaking to the reporters, Muddahanumegowda stated that he is ready to take up the new responsibility of KPCC president post if he is given a chance.
