Bengaluru: Minister and senior BJP leader KS Eshwarappa has stoked yet another controversy with his statement making a reference to Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai.
“The old and the aged also want Aishwarya Rai. But, there is only one Aishwarya Rai,” the Minister said speaking to reporters in Vidhana Soudha, on Friday, while talking about the people’s aspirations to become Deputy Chief Minister and the possibilities of making additional DCM posts.”Everyone desires to become DCM, but we cannot keep creating posts. I do not know what positions will be given to the rebel MLAs who win in the by-polls. It is all left up to CM BS Yediyurappa’s discretion. However, the CM will fulfill all the promises that he has made,” said Eshwarappa adding that on December 9 the state will witness end of unstable politics.
Meanwhile, predicting a landslide victory for the BJP in the by-polls, he said that all the 15 BJP candidates will win and that the rebels need not worry about their future.
“We will not do any injustice to them,” he said adding that the rebels had refused to become minister after appointed as MLCs. “They opted to contest, become MLAs and then become ministers. Hence, if they lose no efforts will be put in to make them ministers,” Eshwarappa clarified. He also said that all the victorious rebels from Belagavi (Ramesh Jarakiholi, Mahesh Kamatalli, Srimanth Patil) will be made ministers.
