Bengaluru: After Haryana, Karnataka becomes the second State to begin the Aadhaar Linked Birth Registration (ALBR) process. The government has integrated the system with the State Government’s e-JanMa portal.

The new system will benefit parents, who want Aadhaar cards for their children as soon as they are born so that they can take full advantage of various government schemes, like Bhagyalakshmi, which provides financial assistance to girls.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) introduced a system in which a newborn’s birth certificate can be directly obtained from a State Government portal to give Aadhaar cards to children under the age of five.
