Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) has developed a State Heatwave Action Plan for 2022 in collaboration with the State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC).
According to KSDMA Commissioner Manoj Rajan, the plan has been updated with region-specific dos and don’ts, as well as medium and long heat wave risk reduction measures based on global best practises.
“The District administration has been urged to ensure that hospitals and other strategic places are stocked with oral rehydration solutions and appropriate medicines to effectively respond to any heat-related illness,” informed Ranjan.
Through government agencies and non-governmental organisations, the government is ensuring water availability at strategic locations such as markets and places of large public gatherings.
