Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Mango Development and Marketing Corporation Limited (KSMDMCL) in collaboration with India Post will begin delivering mangoes to customers’ doorsteps from Monday May 16.

KSMDMCL officials informed that they and India Post have launched an online sales portal (www.karsirimangoes.karnataka.gov.in).

It can be recalled that using online marketing and postal services, the State Government and India Post started delivering mangoes from farmers in the Ramanagara, Chikkaballapura and Kolar districts to consumers in 2020, despite the coronavirus pandemic and lockdowns.

Following the success of this project, the KSMDMCL continued to deliver mangoes through India Post in 2021, and the department is expecting a positive response from customers this year as well.

Farmers’ names, contact number, and the fruits they grow are all listed on the portal. The farmer will receive a text message after the client placed the order. The farmer will then pack the fruits and send them to Bengaluru’s General Post Office (GPO). The boxes will be shipped from the GPO to their final destinations.
