K’taka Home Min appreciates fans, police for maintaining peace during Puneeth’s funeral

Bengaluru: On the morning of Sunday October 31, Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar was laid to rest with full State honours at Kanteerava Studios in the City here.

Police and fans who helped keep the peace during the final rites were thanked by Home Minister Araga Jnanendra.

In a press statement he said that, “The final rituals of Kannada Actor Power Star Puneet Rajkumar were held peacefully with full State honours. The crowd paid their respects to the actor in a peaceful and organised manner. I want to express my sincere thanks to our police officers, BBMP officers, Revenue Department officers, staff, and others who have taken this situation on as a challenge.”

Approximately 20,000 police officers were deployed in Bengaluru City to guarantee security during his funeral.

Home Minister also informed that 1,500 police officers from other districts too were deployed in the City.
