12 Omicron cases found in K’taka on Dec 23, total State tally rises to 31

Bengaluru: The State on Thursday December 23 has reported 12 new cases of Omicron variant of Covid – 19 with the total tally of Omicron in the State rising to 31.

Health Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar tweeted that 12 new cases of Omicron have been confirmed in Karnataka today taking the tally to 31. He added that ten are from Bengaluru while one each is from Mysuru and Mangaluru. In all five among the Bengaluru cases had travel history to the United Kingdom and one each from Denmark and Nigeria, while three others did not have a travel history. A 27-year-old man from Mangaluru who had come from Ghana, and nine-year-old girl from Mysuru who had returned from Switzerland are the other two Omicron-infected taking the day’s State tally to 12.

It has been confirmed that they have been isolated, undergoing treatment, and their health condition is being monitored.
