Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court has directed the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) to conduct fresh practical examinations for the petitioners, who are MBBS final year students, within three weeks.
According to sources, the students are studying in various medical institutes affiliated to RGUHS in Kalaburagi, Raichuru, Mangaluru, Shivamogga and Bengaluru.
Justice M. I. Arun passed the order while disposing of a batch of petitions brought by various students who had passed the theory examination but failed the practical examination in areas like as surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, and general medicine.
The petitioners asked the court to set aside their results for the practical examination and urge the institution to conduct a fresh one, claiming that the practical examination was performed in violation of RGUHS norms.
