Bengaluru: After the State Government issued a notification reducing the price of diesel and petrol by Rs. 7 per litre, the State BJP on Thursday November 5 took a dig at opposition party-led state governments for not delivering on promises of cutting state tax on fuel.
State Government took a jibe on opposition party-led state governments in a tweet stating that, “Opposition Parties were lecturing about price rise of petrol & diesel, and are yet to reduce the same.”
Karnataka is the first among BJP-ruled states to reduce sales tax on petrol and diesel. Post the tax cut, the diesel prices in the State has been reduced to Rs. 85.03 from earlier Rs. 104.50, and petrol prices are reduced from Rs. 113.93 to Rs. 100.63.
It can be recalled here that Central Government had reduced excise duty on petrol and diesel on Wednesday November 3.
