Bengaluru: Karnataka Revenue Minister R. Ashok on Tuesday November 30 said that the State will seek Rs. 1,100 Crore as relief from the Centre as rain damages, and added that report to be submitted to Centre is being readied.
He was speaking to mediapersons here and said that for seeking compensation from National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) a memorandum would be submitted in about four days. Preliminary data shows that 26 people have lost their lives, 5.81 lakh hectares of crop have been lost and 2,339 kms of roads have been damaged. Updation is on by the officials, he informed.
Further, Minister said that the government has so far released a crop loss compensation of Rs 318.87 crore to 4.61 lakh farmers.
