Bengaluru: In response to letter by Bengaluru Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Principal Secretary to Government, Health and Family Welfare Department T. K. Anilkumar in a circular dated Tuesday November 23 has ordered waiver of RT – PCR tests for those returning to their home town in Karnataka from Maharashtra within two days of stay in Maharashtra.
However, the waiver is subject to complying with following requirements. Firstly, the passengers should have two dose Covid – 19 vaccination cartificate and 14 days shaould have lapsed after the second dose. Secondly, the passengers should be strictly free from any symptoms of Covid – 19 like fever, cold, cough, throat pain, difficulty in breathing etc. Thirdly, the passengers should self-monitor their health for seven days on return duly complying with all Covid – 19 protocols and get tested immediately if any Covid – 19 symptoms develop. Lastly, the passengers should produce a valid travel ticket of both to and fro journey to ensure two days of stay in Maharashtra.
The circular has instructed the concerned District Administration to ensure that the above instructions are strictly complied with in the larger interest of public health.
