Kudligi DySP disconnects Minister’s phone call; gets transferred!

Ballari: In a saddening trend, the bureaucrats have been reduced t mere punching bags by the politicians. In one such incidents, Kudligi Deputy Superintendent of Police Anupama Shenoy, a Mangalorean was transferred all of a sudden, for a ‘grave mistake’ that she committed by not waiting long enough for State Minister for Labour Parameshwar Naik to come on phone.

It is said that on January 18, Shenoy received a call from an associate of the minister, who asked Shenoy to wait on line till the minister speaks to her.

However, while she was waiting for the minister to speak to her, she received call from district Superintendent of Police, due to which she cut the minister’s call and went ahead to receive the SP’s call.

She then got another call from the minister who took her to task for not waiting for him to connect to her.

The Minister is said to have questioned the DySP if a Minister was superior or a SP and meanwhile challenging her to show her who is more powerful the Minister instantly got in touch with the home Minister and got Anupama transferred to Athani in Belagavi district from Bellari.

The order was thereafter modified, and she was posted to Sindhagi taluk in Vijayapura district, it is said.

It is also said that minister Parameshwar Naik had got deputy director of food and civil supplies department here transferred for failing to follow his directions sometime back.

The minister, however, speaking on Thursday January 21, sought to dismiss allegations against him as speculative, baseless and an attempt to tarnish his image.
