Bengaluru: The State Government has announced a two-day mourning in honour of legendary playback singer and Bharat Ratna awardee Lata Mangeshkar, who passed away in Mumbai on Sunday February 6.
The order stated that in honour of the departed soul, a Statewide mourning will be observed on Sunday February 6 and Monday February 7. During the period, there will be no official, and public entertainment programme. The Indian tricolour will fly half-mast, the order added.
Lata Mangeshkar died at the age of 92 in Breach Candy Hospital 28 days after she was hospitalised for contracting Covid – 19 with pneumonia.
