Bengaluru: The SIT probing corruption case in the Lokayukta submitted its fifth and final chargesheet to the Lokayukta Special Court on Wednesday, December 16.
In the fifth charge sheet, former Lokayukta Y. Bhaskar Rao has not been named as a witness. Till date Rao has been listed as witness in three cases and his statement was recorded three months ago.
However, in all the five charge sheets, his son Ashwin Y. is the prime accused.
An official said that it was highly unlikely that they would register new cases in the extortion ring case, unless new complaints are lodged. Though many complaints were filed with the SIT, the team registered first information reports (FIRs) in the five cases after scrutinising each complaint and the availability of evidences.
The 1,250-page charge sheet in the fifth case — which lists tout Krishna alias Hotte Krishna, Ashwin, and a clerk in the DGP office, Narasimhamurthy, as the prime accused and names 137 witnesses — was filed in the Special Lokayukta Court.
The case pertains to a complaint filed by Srinivas, who was cheated allegedly by Krishna and Ashwin for intervening on his behalf to get an alternative site allotted to him by the BDA.
