Bengaluru: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police submitted a 230 page charge sheet to 8th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Court of the city against Tejraj Sharma, one who attacked Lokayukta Justice P. Vishwanath Shetty recently.

The charge sheet involves 58 witness statements, 145 documents along with the CCTV footage which clearly shows the accused entering the Lokayukta chamber. The witnesses include Lokayukta office staff, Dalayat Subramani, CAR police who admitted the Lokayukta to the hospital, Mallya Hospital doctors and officers against whom Tejraj made allegations.

Sharma, a native of Tumakuru, who claims to be an RTI activist, confessed that he did try to kill the Lokayukta by stabbing. “I submitted 5 complaints to the Lokayukta about 15 corrupt officials working in Tumakuru and Kolar districts. The Lokayukta finished three cases citing lack of evidence. So, I decided to kill him”, he said.

“I used to meet him once in every 15 days with complaints and demanded re-investigation. Once the staff said, ‘this person always comes with fake complaints. Don’t allow him inside’ and sent me back. That day itself I purchased knife giving Rs.60 and went on March 7” he added.

However, Investigation Officer and CCB DCP Jinendra Khanagavi said, “Tejraj used to supply furniture to the government offices and gave fake complaints against those who denied to purchase it. As Lokayukta closed the cases, he missed Rs.1.71 lakh commission and he was upset with that.”
