Bengaluru: The Mumbai Police Cyber Cell has arrested a person from Bengaluru for demanding a ransom of Rs. 2 Crore.
According to police, the man demanded Rs 2 Crore from a Mumbai-based builder. He impersonated as a member of gangster Ravi Pujari’s gang, and made the demand.
It can be recalled here that in January 2019, he was arrested in Dakar, Senegal where he was living with his family under the name Anthony Fernandes. Pujari had escaped to South Africa while on local bail in Senegal. He was then before arrested operation by South African and Senegalese authorities in South Africa in February 2020. He was first extradited to Senegal and then India in the same month. Finally, he was brought to the Karnataka Police.
