Bengaluru: Vidhana Soudha police have arrested a man for posing as a government employee and cheating graduates seeking government jobs with fake job offers.

According to sources, Eeranna, a native of Tumkuru’s Kampanahalli, claimed to be a First Division Assistant (FDA) at the Kannada and Culture Department. He met his victims outside the Vidhana Soudha and promised them jobs as village accountants in several districts across the state in exchange for thousands of rupees in commissions.

The fraud was discovered after a victim filed a police report.

According to the police, the accused allegedly encouraged aspirants to obtain fake PUC marks cards with high scores, claiming that doing so would quicken their applications. He had asked at least seven job applicants to get fake mark cards, informed police.

Further investigation is on.
