Bengaluru: A 25-year-old man has been detained by the Peenya police on charges of sexually abusing two minor girls – one aged seven and the other ten, on Saturday, November 28. The shocking incident came to light on Sunday.

Former SIMI member from Bhatkal arrested for alleged IS links-1Murthy (25), was immediately arrested after the parents lodged a complaint.

A senior police officer claimed that the suspect allegedly offered biscuits and lured the minor girls to his house. He made the 10-year-old girl sit in front of the television on the first floor and took the younger girl to a room, stripped her and fondled her. He later allegedly abused the elder girl as well.

The alleged incident came to light when the girls informed their grandmother.

The girls’ parents and brothers, who work as auto drivers, lodged a complaint with Peenya police on Sunday morning. Police picked up Murthy and booked him under the POCSO Act, 2012. He has been arrested. Medical examination of the two girls has prima facie confirmed sexual abuse, police said.
