Bengaluru: Even after a massive manhunt by the police department along with fire officials, search teams failed to trace the body of 6 year old Husna, who was dumped into a manhole on August 27.
NDRF, BBMP, BWSSB and Fire and Emergency Services, even crawled into the pipes after draining out the water, but failed to find the body.
The bodies of Abbas Ali Baig (8) and Raheem Baig (4) have been retrieved by the search teams earlier but failed to find Husna. It is beleived that her body must have washed away due to heavy flow of water.
Satish Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) in charge of the search opertion said, “We are going to expand the search operation to the adjacent manholes and later into the channel.” Meanwhile, the police questioned the main suspect Fayum Baig in this regard.
Faheem Baig, an electrician had abducted and killed three minor children, aged 4, 6 and 8. The children were dumped into a manhole that was overflowing with sewage after being picked up from school at HRB layout. Baig’s family was opposed to his plans of marrying the woman he loved as she already had children. So, instead of convincing his family or trying to find a solution, he killed the children.
The woman Nagina Begum and Baig stayed in the same area in KG Halli in Bengaluru. The woman’s husband had left her a year ago and moved to Hyderabad.
Her three children Sultan(4), Afreen(6) and Afnan(8), went missing on August 27 and a massive manhunt was launched. However, it was not until Sunday that the woman revealed her relationship with Baig which led to an indication that the latter may have been involved.
