Bengaluru: Over 50 pro-Kannada organisations have called for a state bandh on December 5, as protest against the formation of the Marata Development Corporation.
The state government formed this corporation eyeing on Marata votes in Basava Kalyana assembly constituency.
A decision in this regard was taken in a meeting of Kannada organisations, which was chaired by former MLA Vatal Nagaraj.
In the meeting it was decided to give 10 days time to the state government to reconsider its decision.
If the state government does not change its decision, a state-wide protest culminating with a bandh on December 5.
