Bengaluru: A group of people vandalized the office of a prominent media house in protest to a tweet by a journalist which they alleged was controversial and in bad taste.

Members of Anjuman-e-Imamia staged a protest outside the office of India Today/Aaj Tak here on Friday. The protesters had taken offence to a post on social media by a journalist in connection with the film S Durga.

Initially, the protest was confined to slogan-shouting over the ‘blasphemous’ tweet. However, later, some people smashed the glass doors of the office. Many staff members were in the office at the time.

Journalist Rohit Sardana, who had posted the tweet, has claimed that he has been receiving threat calls and has sought police protection.
