Medical student from Bihar held for allegedly harassing women

Bengaluru: The City police on Tuesday December 14 has arrested a medical student for allegedly misbehaving with a woman and her two children when they were travelling in a car. It is reported that the incident took place on Friday December 10.

The accused has been identified as Vijay Bharadwaj from Bihar, now a resident of Jayanagar studying a master’s course in Medicine in a private college.

According to police sources, the incident occurred in the wee hours of Friday, when the 39-year-old woman who was accompanied by her 19-year-old son and 21-year-old daughter was heading home, and their car broke down at Veerannapalya junction. As the woman’s son was repairing the car, Bharadwaj who arrived at the spot harassed the ladies.

The family has complained to Amruthahalli Police that he harassed the daughter. Also, he allegedly followed them and made verbal threats. The woman’s daughter has recorded the same.

Police sources said that Bharadwaj was drunk at the time of the incident.
